AJ Styles unveiled as WWE 2K19 cover Superstar #MMBWWE #MMBGames
WWE 2K19 now has a Phenomenal cover Superstar and a path to WWE video game immortality.
2K has named AJ Styles as the cover Superstar of the upcoming edition of the WWE video game franchise. The world-renowned video game publisher unveiled its choice and other details about WWE 2K19, most notably the debut of the Million Dollar Challenge, during a press conference today.
Styles, the two-time WWE Champion who successfully retained his title at Money in the Bank 2018, attended 2K’s press conference. He expressed excitement and gratitude about being chosen for 2K’s highest honor.
“As a hardcore gamer and ambassador of everything it means to ‘Never Say Never’ in both my professional and personal life, it is a dream come true to be selected as the WWE 2K19 cover Superstar,” he said.
The Phenomenal One joins an elite group of grapplers who previously served as the face of the WWE 2K franchise. 2K’s past choices for the coveted role include “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, John Cena, Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins, who graced the cover of last year’s game.
In addition to its cover Superstar selection, 2K introduced the WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge. This competition, introduced by Styles during the press conference, will put players on a path to facing The Phenomenal One for a chance to win $1 million.
To participate in the WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge, eligible players must accomplish four tasks:
Players must beat a to-be-announced new mode in the game.
Then, players can submit a promotional video proving they can beat AJ Styles in WWE 2K19.
From there, four semifinalists will be selected for a semifinal round of competition.
One player will then earn the chance to compete against AJ Styles one-on-one in WWE 2K19. The prize? One million dollars.
2K will announce more details about the WWE 2K19 Million Dollar Challenge in the months to come. For complete rules including eligbility requirements, please visit: wwe.2k.com/milliondollarchallenge/rules
When they purchase their copy later this year, players will also be able to choose from multiple editions of WWE 2K19. 2K introduced multiple premium editions of this year’s game, which include:
- The WWE 2K19 Deluxe Edition, which contains a copy of the game with special packaging and access to Season Pass, Pre-Order and Collector’s Edition digital content.
- The WWE 2K19 Collector’s Edition, which contains the same features as the Deluxe Edition plus exclusive and rare collectibles, as well as limited-edition WWE SuperCard content.
Additional details about what will be offered in each edition will be announced by 2K this summer.
WWE 2K19 is not yet rated by the ESRB and is scheduled for worldwide release on Oct. 9, 2018.

Vinnie Paul, Legendary Drummer for Pantera & Damageplan, Dead at 54 #MMBRadio
CREDIT // SOURCE - Melinda Newman
Drummer Vinnie Paul, co-founder of metal band Pantera, has died. Currently a member of Hellyeah, Paul was 54.
His representative confirmed the legendary drummer’s death to Billboard, but added that no further details are available at this time.
"Vincent Paul Abbott aka Vinnie Paul has passed away," reads a statement on the Pantera Facebook page. "Paul is best known for his work as the drummer in the bands Pantera and Hellyeah. No further details are available at this time. The family requests you please respect their privacy during this time."
Along with his brother, Dimebag Darrell, Paul (born Vincent Paul Abbott) formed Pantera in 1981. The group found mainstream success with second lead singer Phil Anselmo. Throughout its career, Pantera earned four Grammy nominations and charted nine albums on the Billboard 200, including its 1994 album Far Beyond Driven, which debuted at No. 1 on the chart.
Following Pantera’s demise, the Abbott brothers formed Damageplan in 2003. The band was performing on Dec. 8, 2004, when Dimebag Darrell was shot and killed onstage during a concert in Columbus, Ohio.
Since 2006, Paul was the drummer for Hellyeah, a heavy metal supergroup that also includes Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray and Nothingface guitarist Tom Maxwell.
Born in Texas, Paul credited his Lone Star roots for his powerful groove. “The Texas thing is part of it, growing up on a healthy dose of ZZ Top and Stevie Ray Vaughan, but I also was a metal-head from day one. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Van Halen, all my favorite bands had really great grooves to their music,” he told OnlineDrummer.com a few years ago.

Looking back at Vader's time on ‘Boy Meets World’ with the show's creator #MMBWWE
Simply put, the ’90s were all that and a bag of chips. And in a decade that gave us such riches as Power Rangers, Beanie Babies and Gameboy Color, few things were flyer than WWE and ABC’s TGIF. It’s no surprise then that kids’ heads exploded out of euphoria when WWE’s Vader began mixing it up with Cory, Shawn, Topanga and Mr. Feeny on “Boy Meets World” as the father of school bully, Frankie Stechino.
Now, in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Vader’s most memorable appearance on the show — season four’s “Sixteen Candles and Four-Hundred-Pound Men” — WWE.com spoke with “Boy Meets World” creator Michael Jacobs to get the 411 on why Vader initially caught the show’s eye, what it was like having a WWE Superstar on set and what went down when they shot an episode at an actual WWE Live Event!
WWE.COM: What first prompted the interest in bringing a Superstar onto “Boy Meets World”?
MICHAEL JACOBS: We [had] this character of Frankie Stechino. We all sat around the table going, “This guy looks like a wrestler … this guy’s father was a wrestler!” And it sparked all of our imaginations. So we were talking about, “Who does he look like?” and, “Who does he resemble?” And we all said, “Hero or villain?” Everybody around the table said, “Villain!” So we hit on Vader.
WWE.COM: Why was Vader a natural fit to play Frankie Stechino’s father?
JACOBS: We wanted [a character] who is just this loving father who moonlighted as a villainous wrestler. It was this oddball, very funny, very loving blue collar relationship. It was funny because there was absolutely no continuity whatsoever on “Boy Meets World.” None. So what we came up with was, “OK, they have absolutely no money. Frankie lives on the wrong side of the tracks, utterly and completely, but his father is the world champion.” So somehow, nobody caught us on this.
WWE.COM: How would you say Vader adapted to the role of actor?
JACOBS: He meshed right away. There was memorizing lines and they were different kinds of lines than just grabbing a mic and vamping on, “Here’s what I’m gonna do to this guy.” It was really this father who had to learn how to be a real parent to this very troubled kid and the audience bought it immediately and that added to Vader’s confidence. Once he got over the initial, “What is this and what is it going to be?” he took to it very easily. He was absolutely a natural entertainment presence.
WWE.COM: Vader is an intimidating dude — were any of the cast members afraid of him?
JACOBS: His persona on television struck a little fear into the hearts of the kids on the show for about six seconds. But kids are the first to see right through you and they realized that this was a very good guy and there was a lot of clowning around. All the kids on the set just tagged up and went after him, so they probably made his life a little bit of hell.
WWE.COM: What are your memories of Vader’s first appearance on the show in the season two episode, “The Thrilla’ in Phila’ ”?
JACOBS: I remember at one point he threw around Will Friedle, who played Eric Matthews, pretty good and that it was the oddest triplet [of guest-stars] ever — Vader, Robert Goulet and Yasmine Bleeth. If you think about it, it was just all insane.
WWE.COM: The popular episode, season four’s “Sixteen Candles and Four-Hundred-Pound Men” will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. Vader was signed to WWE by that time and you centered the episode around that. What do you remember about shooting at a WWE Live Event?
JACOBS: It was at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California, and the whole crowd looked at these actors from Hollywood and all in unison started chanting, “You suck!” “Cory sucks!” and “Shawn sucks!” It was a big challenge in our post-production to get out [the chants], so Hollywood became the villain of that evening.
WWE.COM: That must have been a different kind of shooting day.
JACOBS: It absolutely was. We were stopping the show. [The crowd] had paid to come in and watch wrestling. All of a sudden, they see a girl and a boy dancing and the boos rain down upon us! The funny thing is, I don’t think it was hostile, I think everybody was having a lot of fun.
WWE.COM: Was it nerve-wracking to try and work under those circumstances?
JACOBS: I wish I could say it was intimidating, but I will actually tell you that it was unintimidating because of how nice everybody was and how they really got behind what the story was we were trying to tell. Eventually, besides the fun the crowd had with us, there were cheers and applause. It was a wonderful episode and worked out well for us.

Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair undergoes successful surgery #MMBWWE
“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair underwent a successful intestinal surgery Monday morning and is now recovering nicely in the hospital.
WWE.com spoke with his daughter Charlotte Flair, who explained that his procedure was rooted in the health issues Ric experienced last fall.
“While some may have assumed that the effects [of his health problems last fall] may have slowed down my father’s lifestyle, he really embraced it all, has ended up doing more work in the last couple months than in the previous few years and is enjoying life," Charlotte said. "However, when he was told that he had the opportunity to possibly reverse some of the effects of the initial surgery, my father decided it was something he wanted to try, and he was very positive about the procedure.”
“Now, he is out of surgery, and everything looked to have gone as good as they had hoped,” The Queen continued. “The only thing that remains to do at this point is to wait to make sure everything is working as it should. If it all goes well, he should be out for the hospital in the next three or four days.”
“Though he was a little groggy, we did share a 'Woo!' before getting off the phone, and that was how I knew everything was OK,” said Charlotte, referring to their Facetime conversation immediately after the procedure.

ROH/NJPW PRESENT “G1 SUPERCARD” – LIVE FROM MADISON SQUARE GARDEN! #MMBROH #MMBNJPW
Baltimore, MD [07/12/18] – For 16 years, Ring of Honor Wrestling has created some of the top stars in professional wrestling, and for nearly 50 years, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has brought Japanese Strong Style to the world. Together, these two companies have delivered world class shows such as “War of the Worlds,” “Strong Style Evolved,” “Global Wars,” “Honor Rising,” and the “G1 Special,” which NJPW has launched as a special kickoff in the United States to their annual “G1 Climax,” known as one of the most elite tournaments in professional wrestling.
ROH and NJPW are proud to announce that on April 6th, 2019, the companies will join forces to present the ultimate wrestling event, “G1 Supercard,” to fans from around the world, LIVE from Madison Square Garden in New York City!
“Three years ago, one of our best fans told me in confidence that Supercard of Honor just didn’t feel “super” anymore, said Greg Gilleland, ROH General Manager. “He was right and we took that to heart with the huge events we delivered in Lakeland, FL in 2017, and New Orleans, LA just a few months ago. With consecutive record breaking attendances, the question became, how can we top that in 2019? More importantly, how can we give the fans more of what they want and what they deserve? The G1 Supercard is an event that can only represent the absolute best possible matches with both NJPW and ROH stars, and Madison Square Garden is the perfect venue for them.”
“This is a historic initiative for ROH and New Japan Pro-Wrestling,” Harold Meij, President of NJPW proudly commented. “This gives us a great chance to expose fans to NJPW in the building which housed so many memorable and compelling matches.”
Already confirmed for this show from NJPW are Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Tetsuya Naito, in addition to all of the top ROH Stars. This show is set to be massive in magnitude including many matches to be announced with championships from both companies defended. Fans will not want to miss this marquee event at a venue with such an amazing storied history of wrestling.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ring of Honor Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling to Madison Square Garden for the much anticipated G1 Supercard,” said Joel Fisher, Executive Vice President, MSG Marquee Events. “We expect April 6th to be another memorable night of wrestling at The World’s Most Famous Arena.”
ROH Chief Operating Officer Joe Koff is equally proud. “This is destined to join a long list of historical wrestling moments and where better to hold it than at Madison Square Garden. I am extremely proud of what we have been able to achieve as a company and am very appreciative of how great our relationship with New Japan Pro-Wrestling has become. However, none of this would be possible without our fans, who are truly the best in the world. Madison Square Garden would not be possible without them and for that I am most grateful.”
G1 Supercard is sure to be a historical event in New York City that promises to exceed all expectations.
Tickets will go on-sale on Wednesday, August 8th at 10:00 AM ET for HonorClub members and Friday, August 10th for the General Public.

Stormy Daniels is No Longer Married, According to Arrest Report #MMBXXX
Stormy Daniels didn't file for divorce, as far as we can tell ... which makes it all the more intriguing as to why she told Columbus, Ohio vice cops who arrested her she was no longer married.
TMZ got a copy of the arrest report when Stormy was wrongly busted for motorboating an undercover cop at Sirens strip club in Columbus. Check out question 14 in the biographical info section. Married? The answer -- No.
Stormy married Glendon Miller Crain in January, 2015 ... this according to the marriage certificate obtained by TMZ. There is no official record that Stormy or Glendon tried to end their marriage ... which makes her answer on the arrest report all the more puzzling.
Stormy's lawyer, Michael Avenatti, tells TMZ his client is indeed married ... but he said he was unaware the arrest report suggests otherwise.

Kate Upton Announces She's Pregnant #MMBPOP
Kate Upton is catching what seems like the wave these days ... she's pregnant!!!
Kate just announced she's having a baby ... posting this pic Saturday from Miami. We've learned she's there for Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Model Search during Miami Swim Week ... so pregnancy's not stopping her from working it.
Kate married Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander last November. They dated for 5 years. As you know, they got hitched just days after the Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the World Series.
Kate captioned the pic, "#PregnantinMiami @justinverlander."
Unclear how far along she is ... but one thing's for sure -- Kate looks great!
Justin just posted, "You're going to be the most amazing Mom!! I can't wait to start this new journey with you! You're the most thoughtful, loving, caring, and strong woman I've ever met! I'm so proud that our little one is going to be raised in this world by a woman like you! I love you so much."

Madonna Quotes 'Pulp Fiction' In Ariana Grande's 'God Is A Woman' Video #MMBMUSIC
There's a moment in Ariana Grande's video for her empowering new track "God Is A Woman" where the music cuts out and a booming female voice starts speaking. The voice does not belong to Ariana, but she mouths along to the monologue, breaking the fourth wall by looking directly at the camera. For many, there will be something strangely familiar about these words. You might feel like you've heard this passage before. If you haven't seen the video yet, here's the full text from this moment which comes at the 2:24 second mark:
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my sisters. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
The passage comes from the bible, - which makes sense considering the religious imagery in both Ariana's lyrics and the music video - it's Ezekiel 25:17. Ari made one tweak to the quote, though, changing the word "brothers" from the original text to "sisters" for her video. This quote was made famous when Samuel L. Jackson quoted it in the film Pulp Fiction during a memorable scene.
The other mystery about this moment in the "God is a Woman" video is who is actually speaking? It's not Ariana Grande and it's definitely not Samuel L. Jackson, so, who is it? An Ariana Grande fan account confirmed that it's actually Madonna's voice we hear during the video. This is another perfect fit for the "God is a Woman" video because of the religious and societal association with the word Madonna.
After watching "God is a Woman" approximately 532365723 times, there's still so much to unpack. Between the symbolism, the lyrics, the screaming gophers (yes, the screaming gophers), Ariana Grande has created something special with this video. It's no wonder the song makes Ariana cry every time she listens to it - it's that powerful.
